Austin Eichhorst

In May of 2018, a search team was formed to begin the search for a new youth pastor.  During their research, the idea of a youth intern from Word of Life Bible Institute (WOLBI) was entertained. WOLBI has a program called Youth Ministry Intern.  The intern is a 2-year graduate of the institute with a 2-year commitment to a church doing youth ministry, while attending an online college to complete a degree. Austin was chosen and began his internship with Union Church in September 2018.

Austin grew up in Macomb, Michigan.  He was raised in a family where both of his parents love the Lord.  They helped run the youth group when he was young, so he spent a lot of time at church.  He trusted Christ at a young age, “But I really fell in love with God, and doing ministry, when I had the privilege of going on a mission trip to Brazil in 2012.  From then, it has been a journey of being exposed to ministry and missions, and that brought me to the WOLBI.  It was there that I began to really know the God I wanted to serve.  It has been the best two years of my life, and I’m so excited by the opportunity to come alongside Union Church in ministry!”

The excitement is mutual, Austin!  Union Church can’t wait to get to know you and see what God has in mind as we travel together in faith over the next couple years.  Austin will be living with Luke and Pamela Moffitt, who have opened their hearts and home to him while their young-adult children, Luke Jr, and Amanda, are attending WOLBI.  Surely, God has a wonderful way of working all things together for good, just as His Word says!
